905 Organ, Eye and Tissue Donors Honored

67% of adults in our region now say "yes" to donation—a 3% increase over 2017.

Our communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Wisconsin say YES to donation at a far greater rate than the national average of 58%. That’s how we saw 567 organs transplanted, 326 corneas transplanted, and over 50,000+ tissue grafts shared in our region.*

Just one person’s generous gift of donation can heal up to 75 lives. Still, over 3,300 people continue to wait for a lifesaving transplant in our region. Our mission to save lives and offer hope and healing is as important as ever.

* Some donors gave the gift of both organs and eyes or tissue, which means the number of organ, eye and tissue donors adds up to a sum greater than the total number of LifeSource donors.

Anyone can register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor!

We partnered with more than 270 hospitals and 9 transplant centers in 2018.

These partnerships are the cornerstone of our efforts to make donation happen for the families we serve.

That's the second-largest geographic service area in the nation,
nearly 235,000 square miles.

905 new Donor Aftercare families added in 2018

to our Donor Family Aftercare Program.
